EVA #: 18

Purpose of EVA: Exploration of Special Region

Start time: 09:57

End time: 11:57

Narrative:

The maintenance of the atmospheric instrument had been done a few times already so it did not cause any problems. Once that was done, the EVA crew took the direction of the area called Special Region. We went towards the North, we had to stop a little bit before the gateway to Lith because our rovers were at 50% of their batteries. We continued by foot and we explored the area for about 1 hour. The EVA team took a bit of time to take some pictures before going back to the base. This EVA was really efficient and fun as the landscape was really beautiful.

Destination Coordinates (use UTM WGS 84): 518500E, 4256000N

EVA Participants:

EVA Leader: Adèle, HSO

Célia, Astronomer

Summary Title: The start of the end

Mission Status: Going great

Sol Activity Summary:
Today was an intense day, full of renewed energy. The combination of the rest day and the end of the mission approached motivated us throughout the whole sol.
We had a shorter night, because of the switch to DST, and decided to sleep just a bit more by skipping the physical activity session in the morning. We ate our last batch of pancakes for breakfast (we may have overused them a bit for reassurance during the past week) and started a productive sol.

Today was the Day of Women’s rights on Earth and Adèle, Célia and Lou filmed some videos to encourage women in France to achieve their dreams. They also did our furthest EVA so far, which was a success (despite not seeing any sign of past life on Mars). Right after lunch, we played a real life "Among Us" game in the station, prepared by Célia, Adèle and Félix yesterday.

It was a lot of fun before getting back to our usual activities. Adrien filmed a lot for his documentary, and we continued to gather data from our human factors experiments.

Look Ahead Plan: We will keep on conducting our experiments, and start to do the assessment of our stay in the station.

Anomalies in work: The Home Assistant dashboard has lost connection to the batteries and the generator. The power system otherwise seems fine.
