Summary Title: Another good sol on Mars
Mission Status: Going great, two thirds done !
Sol Activity Summary:
Today was another good and calm sol. We didn’t encounter any new issue with our experiments or the station itself.
In the night, our ground team published our mid-mission video, and we are very proud of the result. We hope that it shows in a beautiful way all the work we have been doing in the station for the past two weeks !
In the morning, we worked our lower body with a physical session prepared by Adèle and Julien together. This time, the EVA team used a 3D map for orienteering, and clearly beat the performance of the 2D team, showing the usefulness of Photogrammetry for exploration. The rest of the crew kept working on other experiments in the station, and took time to rest a bit. Even though the mission is going better than ever, we are still feeling fatigue from the isolation and confinement, and we can feel it more as the week gets closer to its end (and the so awaited rest day !).
As today was quite cloudy, we tried to minimize our electrical consumption. Usually a resource we have in excess in the day thanks to our huge solar panels, like every other one on Mars we had to think about every usage and how necessary it was.
Look Ahead Plan:
As we approach the last leg of our mission, we are beginning to plan the conclusion for everything we have set up in the station, both for our living quarters and for our experiments. We are looking forward to our last rest day, to fully recharge our batteries and finalize everything with renewed motivation.
