Sol Activity Summary:
The group has integrated very well. We are all very aware of each other’s strengths and we assign tasks and responsibilities based on each person’s profile.
Dealing with freeze-dried and dehydrated food hasn’t been a problem, as we’ve managed to make the most of it and achieve nutritional variety.
We work on our personal experiments in a collaborative, cross-functional way, involving everyone else. In my case, today I greatly enjoyed helping the Green Hub Officer and learning a lot from her technique and expertise. In particular, as a pilot, I find it very rewarding to spend time in the RAM, because the smell of gasoline and oil in that Chinook fuselage transports me directly to my hangar and my aircraft. It’s no coincidence that the sense of smell is the sense most closely connected to memories.
So far, we have managed to feel like a family, turning our shared experience into a comforting and encouraging one.
Just a few minutes ago, we watched the ISS move majestically across the night sky.
Look Ahead Plan:
Tomorrow will be an interesting day, as the international "Live on Mars" event, coordinated by our Crew Journalist, will take place at 11 am.
At midday, the Commander and the HSO/Crew Engineer will give a detailed emergency briefing to the crew.
In the early afternoon, we will conduct our fourth EVA.
