Summary Title: Much Needed Progress
Mission Status: Research plans back on track, other operations nominal
Sol Activity Summary: Breakfast today consisted of the crew’s first powdered milk and a combination of oats, granola, and dried fruits. The cloudy weather and low visibility continued, forcing us to cancel our morning EVA again. In lieu of a new sample, the crew scientist decided to make another batch of bricks with his last sample to refine the brick making process. The second EVA of the day was a huge success, seeing advances in both the rover and environmental sensing projects. Down time was filled with another round of Terraforming Mars, where the commander won again, bringing his record to 2-0! A fresh harvest of mystery leaves were the perfect complement to the black bean burgers and fried potato crisps for dinner. The team is winding down with more competitive whodunit and looking forward to the rest of the mission, officially passing the halfway point.
Look Ahead Plan: Projects are starting to pick up pace, the crew scientist should be able to gather another sample tomorrow and the health and safety officer and crew biologist can gather more data for their projects
Anomalies in work: Low visibility and wet terrain caused delays in some research projects

Crew Physical Status: Healthy and fit, relaxed and in high spirits
EVA: Keegan, Daria, and Vindhya left in the afternoon for a short EVA. Keegan placed one environmental sensor near the Hab main airlock and another at the top of a mound near the Hab. Daria and Vindhya record multiple successful trials with the rover driving it a minimum success distance and gathering samples on 3 different trials. The rover team is now prepared for more advanced trails on terrain around the station.
